Accessibility Statement

Kaleido is committed to making its audio guide accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of our purpose: the guides are narrated aloud precisely so the city can be experienced without reading from a screen.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, consistent with the European standard EN 301 549. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities.

What we do

• Every location offers narrated audio, so content can be heard rather than read.
• The interface supports a light and dark theme for comfortable contrast in different lighting.
• Text uses relative sizing and reflows, so it responds to your browser or device zoom and font-size settings.
• Images and controls include text alternatives and labels for screen readers, and interactive elements are reachable by keyboard.
• As an installable Progressive Web App, Kaleido works with your device’s own accessibility features (screen reader, zoom, larger text).

Known limitations

Some areas may not yet be fully accessible, and we are working to improve them:

• Maps — the interactive map is inherently visual. The same locations are always available as a text list with links, so map content is never the only way to reach a place.
• Partner content — text and images are provided by partner organizations, and the accuracy of alternative text on individual images can vary. Please report any you find.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Kaleido, please tell us so we can put it right. Email privacy@kaleido-eu.com and, if you can, include the page address and a short description of the problem. We welcome your suggestions and aim to respond promptly.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review new features against our conformance target and update this statement as the Platform evolves.
