Rising from the Pannonian Plain like a green island, Fruška Gora is Serbia’s oldest national park and a dense haven of linden, oak and beech forests. Often called the “jewel of Serbia”, this undulating mountain range stretches along the Danube, offering a landscape where wild nature meets centuries of human history.
The forest floor is dotted with rare orchids and wild cereals, while the canopy provides a home for over 200 species of birds, including the golden eagle. In addition to the deep forests, the mountain is known for its secluded monasteries —seventeen historic Orthodox sites hidden in the valleys—and sun-drenched vineyards that produce some of the region’s best wines.
